On-road Driving Study
I-5 Corridor between Edmonds and Tukwila

Battelle Seattle Research Center is seeking volunteers willing to provide driving data from 2 roundtrips on I-5 between Edmonds and the Tukwila area each morning for 5 consecutive weekdays, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., Jaunary 12-16, 2015.

How will data be collected?

A small data collection device interfacing through a Samsung cellphone will be connected to your vehicle for a period of 5 days. Volunteer drivers will meet in Edmonds or Tukwila, at a location close to I-5. After each leg of the four one-way trips, drivers will meet up at the north/south locations so researchers can manage the group start-times for the next trip.

Appointments for installation of the data collection equipment will take place during the week of January 5-9, the week prior to data collection drives. The installation location is at our South Lake Union office:

Battelle Seattle Research Center
1100 Dexter Ave N, Suite 400
Seattle WA 98109 (directions and map here)

Parking at our offices will be validated.

What data will be collected?

Data collected will include: your location on I-5, the time you are on I-5, and how long it takes you to travel from Edmonds to Tukwila. Data collected will not be tied to you or your vehicle.
