New DeepStar Membership Benefits Battelle's Oil and Gas Clients
DeepStar, an operator funded Research & Development collaboration between oil companies, vendors, regulators and academic/research institutes, ultimately enables organizations such as Battelle to better understand oil and gas company needs and develop new technologies and approaches based upon those needs. DOE Awards Battelle Two Unconventional Oil and Gas Production Contracts
With its first award, the Department of Energy tasks Battelle Principal Research Scientist Joel Sminchak and Senior Research Leader Neeraj Gupta with developing a framework for managing subsurface brine disposal in the Northern Appalachian Basin crucial for unconventional oil and gas production. PHMSA Relies Upon Battelle's Pipeline Expertise

On November 7, Battelle headquarters in Columbus, OH, served as the backdrop for Shell Chief Scientist Jose Bravo's mid-day seminar entitled: Technological Challenges for Production of Energy in the Next Decades. The information-sharing meeting kicked off with Battelle CEO Jeff Wadsworth welcoming Dr. Bravo to Battelle and was followed by key Battelle experts presenting on produced water, environmental metagenomics, biofuels technology and undersea systems.
Brazil-based Clients Benefit from Battelle's Cooperative Agreement with Centro de Technologia em Dutos (CTDUT)
Located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, CTDUT - Pipeline Technology Center is a not-for-profit institution, offering shared real-scale facilities for research and testing of equipment to the pipeline industry as well as in the qualification and training of specialized personnel. Brazil-based clients can now benefit from a recently signed cooperative agreement between CTDUT and Battelle which enables Battelle to resource CTDUT's facility.
